OPEN STUDIO

TUESDAY AND FRIDAY PAINTERS

Some members of DeCosmos may be interested in joining one of the groups of enthusiastic artists that meet on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.

The artists, who work on their own projects, benefit from the camaraderie and suggestions of other attendees.

The groups meet at the McMillan Arts Centre, 133 McMillan Street in Parksville and participants share the cost of the room rental.  The number of participants is subject to the availability of space.

Community Facility Exhibits

DeCosmos members are invited to hang framed paintings or photographs in the Parksville Library.  The works are sold directly by the artist with 100% going to the artists and must be for sale.

Artwork is shown in the library for 6 months at a time and is changed each April and November.  The next change of artwork will be announced.  All artwork must be framed or suitably prepared for pubic presentation.  Unframed artwork is acceptable if done on gallery wrap canvas, painted on all sides.  Frames and mats must be in good condition with appropriate hardware and wire and be ready for hanging with a wire at the back.  Clip framing and any work not properly prepared will not be hung.

The library is closed at the moment for renovations but we have designated space at the Parksville |Civic Centre and members of DeCosmos may hang art work there at any time.  Please contact Jennifer at the MAC.
