Alex Carr is a visual artist living in Parksville. Originally from Ottawa, she also lived in
Montreal for many years, where she got a Certificate for Illustration and Design at Dawson
College, where she discovered her passion for drawing and creating. In the last few years Alex has settled on the West Coast enchanted by the natural beauty of the region.

She has explored many different mediums and practices including digital illustration, figure
drawing, pen and ink; recently she has spent a lot of time exploring acrylic painting with a
focus on landscapes and flowerscapes. Her goal is to create joyful works that capture the
organic beauty of the West Coast.

Bold mark making and strong colours distinguish her work. She is regularly filling
sketchbooks, loose paper and canvas trying to capture the world around her, she is always
looking for ways to expand her practice and express her experiences
